About Us
Our Church, People, Practice and Pastor

Our Church

Churchill Baptist Church has been in existence since 1939.  We are members of the Sovereign Grace Fellowship of Canada

As the photo shows we are located in a country setting.  We have lots of room for parking.  The kids can play outside while mom & dad enjoy a coffee and conversation.  In winter when the snow falls we have a great hill for tobogganing.  Parents can stay inside and watch from the window while their children go up and down and up and down and ...

Our People

We gather together in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to worship our heavenly Father by the power of the Holy Spirit. We seek to ascribe to Him the praise worthy of His Name.

We love to sing and praise our Lord.

Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name; Worship the LORD in the splendor of his holiness.

Our Practice

We are baptistic in practice and hold to those truths commonly referred to as the "doctrines of grace."

In addition we hold that in the New Testament, God's revelation is expressed most clearly, with finality, but also most gloriously through his Son, Jesus Christ.  Not only is Jesus Christ our Saviour, he is also our Lord as evidenced by the repeated master/slave illustrations in Scripture.  This means that his word is to be the rule of our life.  These two truths lead us to further hold to what is increasingly becoming known as New Covenant Theology.

Our Pastor/Elders

Marino Vereecke came to CBC as a seminary student in the summer of 1989. He became the pastor/elder in May 1990.  Marino is a graduate of Toronto Baptist Seminary and Bible College with a Master of Divinity. He is married to Deborah and they have four children.

Mark Peterson, an elder, came to CBC in 1998 and has been actively involved in the church in many aspects.  He is currently the chair person at Alliston Community Christian School.  Mark is married to Heidi  and they have two children.
